Roger Dale Brown, 62, of Grinnell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Roger Dale Brown, the son of James and Georgia (Buchanan) Brown was born on January 4, 1953 in Elizabethton, Tennessee.

As a child, Roger’s family relocated to Sacramento, California, where he graduated from Norte Del Rio High School in 1971. On April 16, 1980, Roger was united in marriage to Lisa Donaldson. Together they raised three loving children: Jeremy, Michelle and Shannon. Roger worked for Cunningham Plumbing & Heating in Grinnell before moving to Tennessee, where he worked at North American Rayon Corporation.

Roger moved back to Grinnell in 2011 with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Carly, who was his best friend and companion. He also enjoyed collecting Occupied Japan Collectibles, attending flea markets and yard sales, watching WWE and spending time with his family.

His memory will be honored by his children: Jeremy Brown (& Angel Clark) of Des Moines, Michelle (& John) Moore of Grinnell, and Shannon (& Chris) Crandall of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren: Lexi Moon, Casey Moore, Kaleb Walker, Rileigh Moore, Bailey Moore and Gwynne Ann Brown; one great grandson, Kellan Cowell; a sister, Dorothy Brewer of California; and many special nieces, nephews and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgia Brown; two brothers: Charlie and Joe; and three sisters: Betty (D.C.), Joyce and Viola.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is providing care for Mr. Brown’s arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., immediately prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be at the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family’s name.
