Barbara Sue Vos, 76 of Woodside, California and formally of New Sharon Iowa, passed away on January 1, 2015. Barbara was born to Raymon and Elizabeth (Carl) Jackson on March 19, 1938 in Oskaloosa, IA.

Her entire school years were in New Sharon, graduating with the Class of 1955. Barbara worked at the Oskaloosa Herald newspaper for 4 years before attending college at the Iowa State University in Ames Iowa for 2 years. In 1962, she was married to Raymond Vos, also from New Sharon. He preceded her in death on Jan 6, 2011. Ray was in the Air Force and they were stationed in Arizona, New Mexico and South Carolina. They made lifelong friendships all along the way. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1966 and began his long employment with American Airlines, based in San Francisco Ca. They purchased a home in Woodside, CA in 1972. That was their residence until Barbara passed away in that home from ovarian cancer. She fought hard against that disease for 20 months.

She was a long time member of the Woodside livestock committee. She always enjoyed her horses and did horseback riding in parades and horse shows and just for her pleasure.

She is survived by her sister Pamela Jackson of Sherman Oaks, Ca. Also, her longtime loving caregiver Jo Jo Angelo, along with cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A visitation will begin on January 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Holland Coble funeral home in New Sharon, Iowa with a burial to follow at the Friends cemetery in New Sharon at 11:00 AM.

A memorial was held on January 8, 2015 at the Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo Ca.
