Dwight Thomas Morrow, 94, of Sigourney, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Sigourney Health Care Center where he had resided since February 2011. He was born Saturday, November 20, 1920, to Oren and Nellie Warrick Morrow on the farm south of Delta, where he lived until 2006.

Dwight married Janet Aspinwall on May 5, 1962. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2011. Dwight attended North Honey Grove country school and graduated in 1939 from Delta High School.

After high school, he enrolled with the Civilian Conservation Corps, CCC, in 1939. The barracks were in Oskaloosa and he worked on projects at Lake Keomah and was a hospital orderly. Dwight received an Honorable Discharge in 1941.

Dwight then farmed, worked for John Morrell in Ottumwa, Van Gorp Implement and Clow of Oskaloosa, retiring in 1983.

Dwight demonstrated a strong Christian belief. He was baptized at the Delta Methodist Church. Dwight attended Garrett Seminary at North Western University in Illinois and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene. He preached in various churches. He became the minister serving the Tioga Church for 15 years, until it’s closing in 1964.

Surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, good Christian friends, his Sigourney Health Care Center family, and special friends June Rice and Elaine Tolle.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Janet; his parents; and brothers: Albert, Jerald, Donald and Delbert.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Tioga Cemetery south east of Rose Hill, with Henry Goetz officiating. Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Tioga Cemetery.
