Tuifua Named Second-Team All-American
Oskaloosa–Hea Tuifua (Jr., Salt Lake City, Utah, Undecided) was selected as one of the top offensive linemen in the nation as the AFCA NAIA Coaches’ All-America Teams were announced Tuesday.
Tuifua, who plays center for the Statesmen, was named to the second team’s offense. He is the 16th All-American in Head Coach Todd Hafner’s tenure and the 35th in program history.
Tuifua helped William Penn go 7-4 (3-2 Midwest League) and rank second nationally with 335.9 rushing yards per game (402.5 total yards per game). The Statesmen had three outings with over 500 yards, highlighted by 631 against Saint Xavier (Ill.).
The American Football Coaches Association has selected an All-American team since 1945. Back in June of 2013, the NAIA Football Coaches Association and the National Administrative Council voted to have a second team also honored.
