Pella, Iowa – This has been like a roller coaster ride for the Oskaloosa wrestlers this season. The Indians have struggled during duals but have had some very strong moments during tournaments.

Saturday was a little of both as Oskaloosa took to the mat at the Pellagra Tournament, against some of the better competition in this part of the state.

Oskaloosa continues to send out a very young team, but the upperclassmen have helped show the way, while growing in the process.

Bringing home championships for the Indians were: sophomore Drew Sams at #120 lbs., senior Skylar DeJong at #126 lbs. and senior Cody Jones at #170 lbs. Runner ups were: sophomore Kyler Salazar at #182 and fellow sophomore Callan Tomlin at #220 lbs. Bringing home strong 3rd place finishes were: sophomore Josh Diehl at #106 lbs. and junior Zane McKay at Hwt. Oskaloosa finished 5th in the strong 8 team field.

Eddyville Blakesburg Fremont finished 2nd to Norwalk in the same Pella Tournament. Bringing home titles for EBF were: Cody Brown at #132 lbs., Jeren Glosser at #138 lbs., Blake Marolf at #145 lbs., and Hunter Johnston at #195 lbs. all of the EBF wrestlers are seniors.
