Becky Joleen Jacobs, 63, of Oskaloosa died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born May 19, 1951, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Betty Walker Phillips.

Becky graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1969. She went on to earn her Bachelor degree in Art from Northeast Missouri State in 1973. In 1972 she was united in marriage to Dan Milam. To this union two sons were born, Phillip Milam and David Milam. Becky and Dan later divorced. She worked as a social worker for Mahaska County Department of Human Services and as a librarian at the Oskaloosa Public Library. Last she worked in advertising and sales at the Oskaloosa Herald. In 1990, she was united in marriage to John Jacobs, they later divorced.

Becky enjoyed painting and collecting antiques. She attended Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa. She delighted in spending time with her family and friends.

Her family includes her two grandsons: Josh DenHartog of Oskaloosa and Grant Milam of Urbandale; her father, Wayne Phillips of Norman, Oklahoma; a sister and her husband, Jan & Steve Emmons of Norman, Oklahoma; a brother and his wife, Arlen & Luann Phillips of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and two sons: David Milam and Phillip Milam.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Steve Cox officiating.
Burial will be in the University Park Cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Gateway Church of the Nazarene.
