Old Fashioned Christmas at Nelson Pioneer Farm

The Holiday spirit continues this weekend as Nelson Pioneer Farm and the businesses in Leighton invite you to join them.

On Friday and Saturday night at the Nelson Pioneer Farm, they will be hosting an “Old Time Country Christmas”. They will feature wagon rides, camp fires, soup and chili, goodies and warm drinks.

There will be crafts for the children and vendors with fun Christmas gifts.

Friday night the music begins at 7pm. On Saturday, musical selections will be provided by the Rozenboom Trio at 6pm and the Tschetter Quartet at 7pm.

Some houses will be open with period interpreters and the museum will be open.

In Leighton on Saturday evening,

The Leighton Merchants will be hosting their annual Christmas Lighting Contest on Saturday evening, December 13, 2014.

The Leighton Lions will sponsor a freewill donation soup supper for 5 to 7 pm at the Christian Reformed Church. P.E.T. (Personal Energy Transportation) will have tours and open house at both manufacturing locations.

Also a live drive through nativity will be located at the 1st place southeast of Leighton on the blacktop. It’s sponsored by Ebenezer Reformed Church. Proceeds from the free will donation will be given to P.E.T. which manufactures hand-powered carts for use in 3rd world countries.

Christmas Lighting contest on display all evening.
