William Penn University is proud to be partnering with Drake University’s South Central STEM hub to bring a Make-and-Take night to Penn’s campus.

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and its goal is to inspire adults to share the knowledge that they have gained in these areas with younger generations.

The Make-and-Take Night is not a family festival; it is a resource for teachers, home school parents, youth group leaders, and day care providers. The focus will be presenting STEM topics and activities for children of all age groups. Those who attend will walk away with examples and lessons they can share with the children and young adults whom they have an influence over.

The event will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 6:00–8:00pm in the Penn Activity Center on the William Penn University campus.

Organizers are seeking presenters and participants for the event. There will be two options for those presenting: break-out sessions, located in a classroom, which would cover a 20–30 minute session; or presenters can set up a booth in the common area where they can do shorter 5–10 minute presentations.

Those interested in presenting or attending should visit scstemhub.drake.edu or contact Professor Breanne Garrett at garrettb@wmpenn.edu or call at 641-673-1120.
