Pheasant Hunter Injured Sunday in Mahaska County

A New Sharon man was injured Sunday while pheasant hunting in Mahaska County.

Kevin Flander, 51, of New Sharon, sustained minor injuries to his face, chest and hand when he was hit with pellets fired from a shotgun by someone in his hunting party. The incident happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. Sunday, southwest of Barnes City.

Flander was taken by private vehicle to Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa, where he was treated and released.
