Tuesday, October 7, 2014

7:00 p.m.

Call to Order-Mayor Jim Hughes called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

General Business

Review Minutes from September 9th Meeting-

B. Treasurer’s Report –

C. Claims Report-

E. Water Reports –

F. Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter- No calls were made to animal shelter. They picked up 6 stray cats in September.

G. Sheriff’s Report-.

Motion to approve consent agenda made by Darrell Rust, seconded by Dwight Teeter. Motion approved.

Old Business:

A. Hall Rentals- 2 rentals in September, one scheduled for October so far.

B. Clean-up & Animal Control- No complaints.

E. Street Signs-Jill left message with Reid Stevens hasn’t heard back, she will try calling again.

F. Ditch Cleaning-Tabled until after the first of the year. No money in the budget this year to do it.

G. Nusbaum Project/Shane-Shane is supposed to start this project this month. Shane will talk to the City Engineer next week.

H. Jared Thomas Residence-Jill talked to the City Attorney and he said our next step is to file a municipal infraction against the home owner. Jill will call him and see what we need to proceed. Council discussed issuing the fine to the taxes.

I. Mowing City Hall-Century lawn has a schedule they need to follow according to sections of town. So getting the lawn mowed on a certain day is pretty difficult.

New Business

Park Clean-up-Jim talked to Jen Maxwell and she said she was willing to trim the bushes in the park. Any weekend this month would work for her. Richard trimmed up a couple trees. Council decided on October 18th at 9:00 a.m. to clean up the park. Dwight will check into getting more rubber for the playground.

Anderson’s Liquor License-Renewal is up this month. Motion to approve renewal made by Dwight Teeter, seconded by Darrell Rust. Motion approved.

Business from the Floor

Snow Removal-Council voted on keeping Dustin Teeter for snow removal this winter. Dustin will come to next meeting to talk to Council.
