William Penn University would like to invite the Oskaloosa community to fill the Stadium for the annual Coaches vs. Cancer game to be held on Saturday, October 25 at the Lacey Recreation Complex. The Statesmen will kick off at noon against Saint Xavier. Fans, coaches, officials, and players will be wearing pink at this year’s annual event to promote cancer awareness. The William Penn University Pride of Penn Marching Band will also be giving special half-time performance in conjunction with the William Penn Spirit Squad.

At press time, the Statesmen were 5–1 for the season, with three wins on the road, earning them the #8 spot in the NAIA national rankings. This is the first time the team has ranked in the top ten since October 2012. In appreciation of all the support from fans in the community, all area elementary, middle, and high school students will receive free admission to the game. Flyers redeemable for one free admission have been distributed to the local school districts’ administrative offices. Students 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Everyone is encouraged to wear pink in support of the Statesmen and cancer research. All proceeds from the event will go to the local American Cancer Society.
