The Oskaloosa Marching Pride battled through a cold and blustery day Saturday, October 4, 2014. A double competition day in the wintery weather tested the strength and determination of the band. For the first competition of the day the Oskaloosa Marching Pride traveled to Prairie High School by Cedar Rapids, IA to compete against six other 3A bands at Bands Across the Prairie. The band finished 2nd behind Independence Schools.

The Marching Pride then traveled to the 5 Seasons Marching Invitational in Cedar Rapids, IA. They performed a strong evening show, led by Drum Major Bethany Rowley, and finished 4th out of thirteen bands in Class 3A.

Soloists this year feature Macy Milledge on the mellaphone during Vensus by Gustav Holst and Melissa Moorman on the mellaphone during Firebird by Igor Stravinsky.

The Marching Pride travels for another double competition weekend on October 11th where they will compete at ValleyFest and Showdown at Valley High School in Des Moines, IA.
