GRINNELL SOFTBALL PLAYER LYDIA STARIHA EARN SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS FROM NFCA
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College softball player Lydia Stariha ’17 earned Scholar-Athlete honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2014 campaign.
Stariha, a catcher and third baseman from LaSalle, Ill. (Saint Bede Academy), led the Pioneers in hitting last season with a .358 average, .424 on-base percentage and .415 slugging percentage. She also sported a .946 fielding percentage and stole three bases.
In order to be honored, players must have a grade point average of at least 3.50.
