Oskaloosa–A great defensive not only extended the Statesmen football team’s winning streak to three, but also helped lift William Penn in the rankings as the NAIA released its third top-25 poll Monday.

The Statesmen (4-1), who held off Taylor 14-10 last Saturday, moved up four positions to #11 in the nation with 211 points.

Morningside remains #1 with 340 points and 14 first-place votes. Baker (Kan.) is still second with the final first-place vote, while Tabor (Kan.), Faulkner (Ala.), and Carroll (Mont.) again round out the top five. The top eight spots were unchanged from last week.

The Midwest League is also represented by #8 Grand View and #10 Saint Xavier (Ill.).

WPU travels to Davenport Saturday to open MWL play against St. Ambrose at 1 p.m.
