Olathe, Kan.–The William Penn men’s soccer team permitted an early goal and then two late ones in a 3-0 loss to #6 MidAmerica Nazarene Saturday.

WPU (5-4) was outshot 17-3 and gave up a goal just 1:23 into the afternoon. The visitors were able to keep the Pioneers (7-1-1), a future Heart of America Athletic Conference foe, off the board for nearly the next 80 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Statesmen failed to notch an equalizer during that time and MNU put the contest out of reach with a score at the 81:14 mark and then another just 52 seconds later.

Adrian Macias (Jr., Denver, Colo., Applied Mathematics) paced William Penn with two shots, while Pedro Pereira (So., Sao Paolo, Brazil, Communications) stopped five Pioneer shots in the setback.

Next Up: William Penn returns home next Wednesday to open Midwest Collegiate Conference play against #9 Grand View at 7:30 p.m.
