GRINNELL’S BROWN NAMED MIDWEST CONFERENCE MEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Joseph Brown ’15, a 5-11, 165-pound forward from Berkeley, Calif. (Berkeley), has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week.

It is the second time in his career Brown has been earned the league’s Performer of the Week award.

Brown, a two-time All-MWC first-team selection, played a huge hand in the Pioneers posting a perfect 3-0 mark during the past week. He scored four goals in those contests, plus had a pair of assists. In a 5-0 blanking of Coe College, Brown scored in the 18th and 60th minutes as the Pioneers earned their first win of the season. He also had an assist in the 61st minute.

Brown kept it up at the Sal Vaccaro Tournament in Naperville, Ill., recording an assist in the 50th minute of a 2-0 win over Webster University.

He then scored in the fifth and 75th minutes as the Pioneers beat Penn State-Behrend 3-1 for the tourney championship. Brown now has five goals and two assists for the 3-1-2 Pioneers.

The MWC Defensive Performer of the Week is Sean Dockrell of Knox College.
