Barbara Wyatt, 83, of Montezuma passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, September 2, 2014 at the Taylor House in Des Moines. Barbara J. Wyatt, the daughter of Calvin and Ola (Trimble) Harden, was born on July 2, 1931 in Montezuma, Iowa.

Barb graduated from Montezuma High School in 1949 and AIB College of Business. On August 31, 1952, Barb was united in marriage to Theodore Wyatt in the Montezuma Methodist Chapel by Ted’s father.

They lived in Des Moines, St. Louis, and San Francisco before returning back to Montezuma in 1974, when Barb began her career with Montezuma State Bank. Barb worked at the bank for 37 years, retiring in 2011. She started out as a secretary before becoming a bank teller.

She enjoyed going to Meskwaki Casino, where she was very lucky. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the nursing home on Fridays, socializing, dining out and coffee time with friends. She was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church and KYN Club.

She is survived by several cousins and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ted Wyatt on August 11, 2008.

As was her wish, her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Monday with the family present from 12:30 pm until the time of service.
Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice of your choice.
