Grinnell teams regionally-ranked in preseason poll
GRINNELL, Iowa – Both the Grinnell College women’s and men’s cross country teams are regionally ranked in the preseason.
The United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association lists the Pioneer women eighth in the Central Region and the men’s team 10th.
Carleton holds down the top spot in the region on the women’s side, followed by St. Olaf, Wartburg, Luther, St. Benedict, St. Scholastica, Nebraska Wesleyan and Grinnell. Macalester is ranked ninth and Gustavus Adolphus 10th.
On the men’s side, St. Olaf is No. 1 followed by Central, Loras, Carleton, St. Thomas, Luther, Wartburg, Saint John’s and Nebraska Wesleyan.
Both Pioneer teams open the season Sept. 6 at the Central College Invitational.
