Key Club hosting game day for teens

Key Club

Key Club

Key Club of Oskaloosa—part of the Kiwanis family of service organizations—invites high school age teens to an afternoon of game playing at the Oskaloosa Public Library. On Saturday, March 29 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., the club will entertain friends new and old with board games, card games and refreshments.

As a student-led organization, Key Club provides community service in a variety of ways and wants to encourage other teens to join the group. The club meets monthly for about an hour where they plan for service opportunities and community outreach.

Worldwide, Key Clubs have more than a quarter million members and attribute its success to the fact that students learn leadership through working together. Mentors from Kiwanis and other sponsors provide support as students learn how to create and carry out plans to benefit their community.

For more information about the game day, call William Ottens, Library Director and Key Club advisor, at 641-673-0441.
