Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of February’s Player of the Month awards.

Junior men’s indoor track and field athlete Alex Edwards (Knoxville, Iowa, Secondary Education) won the Male award, while senior women’s basketball player Dani Stahle (South Weber, Utah, History/Government & Psychology) took the Female honor.

Edwards competed in just one meet during the month. He made it count, though, by being named Midwest Collegiate Conference Track Athlete of the Year at the league championships. He won the 400-meter dash (50.43 seconds), the 600-meter run (school-record and meet-record 1:20.49), and the 800-meter run (2:00.34).

He was also MCC Player of the Week once.

Stahle averaged a team-best 13.8 points and 5.0 rebounds, including scoring a career-high 35 points on February 22. She also tallied 14 assists, 11 steals, and one block. The senior, who led her team in scoring three times during the month, shot 54% from the field and 87% from the line.

It is the second honor for both student-athletes with Edwards getting it in April of last year and Stahle being a co-honoree in November-December.
