Series of Trades with Arizona Rattlers Strengthens Iowa’s Roster

DES MOINES, IA – Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Mike Hohensee announced today that offensive linemen Tray Allen and Chucky Curry have been assigned to the team, completing an earlier trade with the Arizona Rattlers.

Allen (6-4, 315, Texas) appeared in two games with the Rattlers during the 2013 AFL season. Prior to playing for the Rattlers, Allen appeared in four games with the San Antonio Talons in 2012, recording five tackles and one sack. The offensive lineman also has professional football experience with the Texas Revolution of the Indoor Football League where he appeared in three games.

Allen played a five-year collegiate football career at the University of Texas. Appearing in a total of 44 career games, he saw action at both the tackle and guard position. After opting to redshirt his junior season due to an ankle injury, Allen returned his senior year (2011) to play in all 13 games, starting six.

Curry (6-5, 300, West Alabama) is a rookie offensive lineman who was a two-year starter for the West Alabama Tigers. Curry’s collegiate football career began at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi where he was a three-star offensive tackle.

“When we made this trade with Arizona, we expected to receive at least two players who would have a positive impact on our offense,” Coach Hohensee said. “Allen and Curry are both big, physical linemen who have been well coached to compete in Arena Football. Camp just got a little more interesting.”

The Iowa Barnstormers home opener is scheduled for April 12, 2014 against the San Antonio Talons. Season tickets are already on sale for as little as $110 per seat. Don’t miss a minute of the action this season! To order your seats or for more information, please call the Barnstormers at (515) 633-2255, or log onto www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
