Schwab Named Male POM, Pritchett Takes Women’s Laurel

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of January’s Player of the Month awards.

Junior men’s basketball player Alec Schwab (Jr., Peru, Ill., Business Management) won the Male award, while junior women’s basketball player Janay Pritchett (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biology & Sociology) took the Female honor.

Schwab averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in addition to six steals and three assists. After missing the first two games of the month with an injury, he scored 28 points in two of his four contests.

The junior, who led the team in scoring twice, shot 46% from the field (36% 3-PT) and 92% at the line.

Pritchett averaged a team-best 18.5 points, including three games with 25 points. She also averaged 3.8 rebounds in addition to 15 assists and seven steals.

The junior, who led her team in scoring three times during the month, shot 51% from the field and 75% from the line.

It is the first honor for both student-athletes.
