GRINNELL’S TAYLOR NAMED MWC PERFORMER OF THE WEEK FOR 3RD TIME THIS SEASON
GRINNELL, Iowa – For the third time this season, and second week in a row, Grinnell College’s Jack Taylor ’15 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week.
Taylor, a 5-10, 165-pound guard from Black River Falls, Wis. (Black River Falls), averaged 34.5 points during the week and became the 23rd player to score 1,000 points wearing a Pioneer uniform as Grinnell extended its winning streak to five games.
The nation’s leading scorer, who averages 32.1 points per outing, had a game-high 40 points with the help of nine 3-pointers in a win over Knox. He followed that up with a game-high 29 points, which was aided by an 8-of-15 performance from 3-point range, and four assists in a win over Beloit College.
This is the sixth time this season a Pioneer has been named the MWC Men’s Performer of the Week.
The MWC Women’s Performer of the Week is Marla Willard of Monmouth College.
