Bonds Sixth at Grand View Open

Des Moines–The Statesmen wrestling program continued its mat campaign with several nice individual performances at the Grand View Open Saturday.

Scottie Bonds (Fr., Chicago, Ill., Physical Education) was the top grappler, placing sixth at 133 pounds. He owned a 3-1 record, including a win by both technical fall and major decision.

149-pounder Logan Loftus (Fr., Marengo, Iowa, Industrial Technology) pinned two foes, while 141-pounder Brad Watson (So., Rolla, Mo., Physical Education), 157-pounder Christian Padilla (Jr., Tampa, Fla., Secondary Education), and 165-pounder Joshua Wooten (Fr., Belleville, Mich., Physical Education) were also 2-2 with one fall each.

Aaron King (Fr., Hedrick, Iowa) claimed a major decision win at 133 pounds.
