The Oskaloosa girls basketball team came into the contest with Pella hoping to improve on their first meeting with the Lady Dutch. For the first 4 minutes they did just that, trailing just 10-6. Then Pella turned up the pressure and forced Osky into numerous turnovers which lead to a 24-9 run to finish out the half, giving the Lady Dutch a 34-15 lead.

Freshman Alexis Westercamp showed some strong offensive moments in the half and came out in the second half nailing a 3 pointer, but then the turnover bug hit again and Oskaloosa found themselves in a deeper hole that they weren’t able to dig themselves out of. Oskaloosa was also cold on the offensive side of the ball, which, along with Pella’s rebounding advantage, led to Osky coming up short in the contest with the Lady Dutch. The final score was 59 – 31 in favor of the Pella Dutch.

Leading Osky in scoring was freshman Alexis Westercamp with 14 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Brittany McQueen with 5 points and 2 rebounds and Paige Howard with 3 points and 2 rebounds.

Oskaloosa is back in action tomorrow, as they travel to Mount Pleasant to take on the Lady Panthers.
