OSKALOOSA, IA — Take time to have some impromptu fun at the George Daily Auditorium – no scripts, no writing, just improvisation in this new program called Saturdaily !mprov for middle school and high school students.

“I wanted to do something for older kids, and the improv really did well over the summer,” said Andy McGuire, Youth Theatre Director at the auditorium. “Once a month on a Saturday we’ll meet at the George Daily for two hours and play some games and have some fun.”

Saturdaily !mprov will meet from 10 a.m. – noon on January 25, February 22, March 22, and April 19, with a showcase on May 10. Students can pick and chose which Saturdays they attend, and only need to participate in at least one session to perform in the showcase. Cost is $5 which can be paid at the door. A waiver signed by a parent or guardian is needed to participate.

The Daily Youth Theatre is also proud to announce the next session of Daily Arts Academy, a four week after school program. The History of Neverland, a building session, begins on January 27 and runs through February 21.

This session is all about the history of four of Neverland’s groups: Fairies, Lost Ones, Vikings, and Amazons! Students will write unique stories and learn about world building, script writing, and other theatre concepts. A public showcase on Friday, February 21st will allow students to show off what they created.

The Red Camp, for students in 1st – 3rd grade, starts Tuesday, January 28thth and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $50. The Blue Camp runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for campers in 4th – 8th grades and starts on Monday, January 27th. Cost for Blue Camp is $70.

Registration and payment will be accepted until the first day of class. If you have multiple students or would like to discuss need-based financial aid or alternate payment plans, those options are available. Registration forms can be picked up at the George Daily Auditorium office or in the Oskaloosa school offices.
