Mahaska County Republican Caucus Information

As I am sure you are all aware, we have another important election upon us and I wanted to take a minute to communicate some important dates and information.
1. Precinct Caucuses: This Tuesday (January 21st) at 7 pm (see below for locations). If you are interested in helping with your caucus, please contact the chair person for your precinct (see list below). If you are not sure of your precinct, please contact the County Auditor’s office at 641-673-7148.
There are three primary functions of this meeting.
– Election of Precinct Committee persons to the County Central Committee.
– Election of delegates and alternates to the County Convention.
– Participants will have the opportunity to submit and debate caucus planks to be forwarded to the County Platform Committee. In an effort to expedite the meeting, please have each plank thought out and written down before this meeting. Only legible hand or type written planks will be accepted. Time allowed for debate will be limited and timed.
2. Mahaska County Republican Party Central Committee Meeting: Thursday, January 23 at 7:30 to 8:30 pm. All newly elected Precinct Committee persons should plan to attend this meeting. We meet the 4th Thursday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the Mahaska County Court house in the top floor meeting room.
3. County Convention: Saturday, March 8th from 1 to 5 pm at the Mahaska County Court House in the top floor meeting room.
The two primary purposes of this meeting are to:
– Elect delegates to the District Caucuses and State Convention.
– Adopt a County Platform.
4. District Caucus: Saturday, April 26th. Go to www.iowagop.org for more information.
The purposes of this meeting are to:
– Elect three persons to the State Central Committee.
– Adopt a District Platform.
5. State Convention: Saturday, June 14th. Go to www.iowagop.org for more information.
The purpose of this meeting is to adopt a State Platform.
