Madison Earns First Weekly Accolade

Oskaloosa–Kelly Madison (Jr., Des Moines, Iowa, Physical Education) has been huge in helping the Statesmen men’s basketball team right the ship lately and for his efforts he has been named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Madison led William Penn (5-4) to four wins last week as the navy and gold have won five straight since starting 0-4. He averaged 19.8 points and 6.0 rebounds in addition to seven assists and seven steals. The junior shot 53.7% from the floor (44.8% 3-PT) as well as 66.7% from the line.

His week was highlighted by a career-high 36 points against #19 Bellevue (Neb.). In that showing, Madison finished 13-for-20. He reached double figures in the team’s other three wins as well.

The award is the first for WPU this year.
