Mildred Neola Lopez, 81, of Ollie died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Keokuk County Health Center.

Mildred was born March 6, 1932, in What Cheer, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Ulin Andeway. She graduated from Ollie Consolidated High School in 1950.

Following graduation Millie moved to Davenport and worked retail. She managed Three Sisters dress shop in Davenport. Millie was united in marriage to Joseph R. Lopez, April 16, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa. Together she and her husband opened a Bridal Shop called Joelle’s Bridal in Davenport, which they managed for approximately 8 years. Following this she and her husband, moved to the Ollie area. Millie raised poultry, managed a Hy-Vee Deli for 25 years, was retired for 5 years and then worked for Wal-Mart for 12 years retiring again in 2010.

Millie enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, flowers and plants, but her true love was her family.

She was a member of the Ollie Baptist Church, the Baptist Sewing Club, and the I’ll Be Seeing You Club.

Millie is survived by her son; John Lopez (Marcia) of Prole, Iowa, two brothers; Leonard (Chloe) Andeway of Richland, and Richard (Janet) Andeway of Ollie. Four sisters; Donna Clingan of Sigourney, Judy (Garry) Deitrich of Ollie, Linda (John) Courtney of Libertyville, and Vicki (George) Husk of Denver, Colorado, three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter; Melissa Lopez, and two brothers: Gilbert and Allen Andeway.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Ollie Baptist Church in Ollie with Reverend Carla Nelson officiating.
Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery near Ollie.
Visitation will begin Monday after 1 P.M. at the Fremont Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Ollie Baptist Church or to Hospice of Keokuk County.
