Three freshmen boys from William Penn college volunteered to complete a trail clean up project for MCRF on Wednesday September 25th. Jeremy White, Zach Smith, and Walter Eastwood completed the clearing of a memorial area along the trail with service in mind. When asked why this project, Eastwood replied “We just want to be good people.” The project included digging up bush plants that had died, clearing away trash and debris and weeding the area. “The place looks great now!” stated Sherry Vavra Executive Director for MCRF. “We had received a call from a trail patron and I was looking for someone who wanted a service project for one day, these students were perfect! Very respectful, hard working and strong enough to dig out the bushes and haul them away.” Ms Judith William’s college foundation class have participated in several projects over the last couple of weeks through William Penn University.
