Oskaloosa, IA – The Oskaloosa Public Library will begin offering computer classes again next week. Topic based classes will be taught on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Library staff will also be available for open sessions on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Classes will be held on the first floor of the library in the newly remodeled Technology Learning Lab.

“We’re excited to be offering classes in this new space,” said Library Director William Ottens. Capital funds from the City provided four new computers, a smart board and projector. The library also purchased a set of eReaders for instruction.

“The Technology Learning Lab will allow us to bring members of the community up to speed with the technology they may need to apply for jobs, learn new skills or communicate with friends and family,” Ottens said.

Due to the limited number of computers in the lab, classes will be limited to 8 participants. Anyone interested may register by calling the library at (641) 673-0441 or by asking at the first floor circulation desk. October’s schedule is listed below:
• October 2 – Computer Basics
• October 9 – Internet Basics
• October 16 – Intro to Email
• October 23 – Technology Petting Zoo
• October 30 – Advanced Google

If you register for a class and find that you cannot make it, please call so your seat can be offered to another patron. Contact William Ottens at (641) 673-0441 or check www.oskaloosalibrary.org for more information.
