City Band Welcomes RAGBRAI

The Oskaloosa City Band performs each Thursday at 8pm in the evening during summer.

The Oskaloosa City Band will perform on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. on the Bandstand in historic downtown Oskaloosa. The band will kick off the evening’s live musical entertainment for our RAGBRAI guests. This concert will showcase music by C.L. Barnhouse Co., a local music publishing company with worldwide notoriety. C.L. Barnhouse composer/arranger, Andrew Glover, will guest conduct a few pieces. Concert goers will hear a wide variety of music including Karl King marches, a “fiery overture based on a western theme”, and a medley of well-known tunes. Soloist, Andrea Dursky will join the band for a patriotic medley. New this week, the band will play two school fight songs. Listeners will have the opportunity to choose their favorite. All are invited to attend and participate in this 149 year tradition.
