Oskaloosa, Iowa – Community support in the form of donated items for the 2nd Annual Duck Plucker’s Ball has been overwhelming. This year’s event on Saturday, July 27 will feature Live Auction items including: a 4–5 person hunting blind custom built by Pete and Ron VanPolen; two sets of tickets to the 53rd Knoxville Nationals; a Honey Creek Resort weekend stay and golf package; patio furniture and accessories from Mahaska Drug; .22 caliber rifle ammunition and Skunk River Arms gift certificate; framed prints by Oskaloosa native, Deb DeJong and Bob Barnes; a year-supply of Pepsi products and cooler from Mahaska Bottling Company; chill and grill barbeque package from Hy-Vee; custom-made furniture from Brad Schlesselman; tickets to the Iowa Speedway; a spa package from Hair Designers; a Grate Expectations catered Super Bowl Party for 20 guests and more. Other live auction items include: a getaway package to Burson’s Delta Resort in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and a guided bear hunt in Maine.
Silent auction packages have something for everyone including: a telescoping flagpole and flag set donated by P.J. Technologies; power tools from Malcolm Lumber; boat anchors custom crafted by Clow Valve Company; a 60-minute massage and spa package from Mahaska Health Partnership; National Sprint Car Hall of Fame packages; Sherwin-Williams paint package; Kenra hair products package; SuperFan packages for Iowa, Iowa State, Oskaloosa, and William Penn University sports fans, young and old; an auto detailing certificate from American Cleaning Services; custom-made yard games; advertising package from OskyNews.org; original artwork by area artists and photographers; full-service grooming and veterinary care packages valued at up to $200 each; tanning packages from Studio 404 and Tropical Rayz; gift certificates for area restaurants including Breadeaux Pizza, Jaarsma Bakery, Maid-Rite, and Smokey Row; healthy cooking cook book and utensils from Mahaska Health Partnership; firearms instruction and gear from Hawkeye Firearms Instruction and many, many more!

Funds raised at the 2nd Annual Duck Plucker’s Ball, hosted by the William Penn Athletics Booster Club, will support continued progress at the Stadium at Lacey Recreation Complex. In addition to all these great auction and raffle items, there will be Field Games at the Mahaska County Izaak Walton League from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm followed by dinner, contests, auction and raffle drawings at Penn Central Mall starting at 5:00 pm.
