Peggy Dulin, 84, of Manassas, Virginia and formerly of Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Fairfax Nursing Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

Peggy was born March 15, 1929, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn T. “Pete” and Anne Shaw Peterson. She graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1947. Peggy worked at the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office in the late 1940’s and early 1950s for Sheriff Jim Harvey. On October 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert P. Dulin in Oskaloosa; Robert died November 23, 2003. Peggy also worked as a part-time bookkeeper for her husband and his uncle, Raymond Ellis, at Ellis Distributing in Oskaloosa. Peggy enjoyed gardening, playing cards, playing golf, watching golf and knitting. She had a great love for animals of all kinds, especially cats. She was a member of Elmhurst Country Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her family includes her two daughters: Kimberly Ann Dulin (& Richard Cutler) of Arlington, Massachusetts and Jane Dulin (& Robert Mancini) of Manassas, Virginia; two granddaughters: Marissa Mancini of Manassas, Virginia, and Anna C. Cutler of Boston, Massachusetts; two cousins: Robert Peterson of Lincoln, Nebraska and Barbara Erquist of Grinnell, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ron Hodges officiating.
Burial will follow in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will open Thursday after 2 p.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter or Mahaska Hospice.
