Congratulations to Nancy Snakenberg of Sigourney – the overall winner of this year’s KIIC Stump the Chumps Contest. Nancy correctly picked 68% of the winning teams in this year’s tournament contest and takes home a nice Milwaukee Tool combo pack from the new MAC HARDWARE in Chariton. Don Snakenberg seems more happy in this photo doesn’t he?

This weekend marks the annual Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Ottumwa Park and because 1106 of your played in this contest, C1st is writing a check to the SE Iowa Komen affiliate for $1200 (rounding up!) as part of this fun contest. Thank you Community 1st Credit Union!

Be sure to come out and support the Komen Race on Saturday morning May 11th (always the day before mother’s day) to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research and support programs. Each year, more than $75,000 is raised and given back in grant money to area hospitals to aid in education, and to provide free screenings when people can’t afford them.

We expect more than 3000 to be on hand for the race and KIIC’s Jason Summers will broadcast live from the event from 9-10am. For the 10th year in a row, KIIC’s Joe Milledge will MC the event. Here is a brief schedule:
8am: 1 mile fun run
9am: 5k – Sanctioned by the US Track and Field
10am: Kids Races sponsored by C1st Credit Union
10:30:Survivor’s Recognition

There is still time to register – and lots of free food and product is given away at this fast paced event. RACE As we like to say ‘we’ll have you home before noon!
