Statesmen 15th in Spring Poll

Oskaloosa–The William Penn football will enter the dog days of summer with excitement in the air for 2013 as it holds at #15 in Monday’s NAIA spring poll.

The Statesmen, who were 9-3 (6-1 MWL) last fall, earned 143 points in the rating. Fellow Midwest League programs St. Ambrose (#10) and Grand View (#17) also did not move from December as only eight teams switched positions from the postseason poll.

Defending national champion Marian (Ind.) is #1 with 284 points and ten first-place votes. Morningside is a close second with 279 points and the final three first-place votes. Missouri Valley, Saint Xavier, and Southern Oregon round out the top five.
