Yang Wins Third GOW After Third Tourney Win

Oskaloosa–Maggie Yang (So., Chino, Calif., Biology) made her third appearance atop the leaderboard this year and her efforts earned her Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honors Monday.

Yang, now a three-time honoree this year (five career), paced a field of 34 competitors at the AIB Spring Invitational last weekend. She guided William Penn to a dominating win at the event as four of the top five finishers wore the Statesmen navy and gold.

The sophomore posted an 80-78–158 on the par-71 Lake Panorama Golf Course for her third win and ninth top-five finish of the season. She currently owns an 80.8 stroke average, including seven rounds in the 70s.

The award is the fifth for WPU this year.
