Oskaloosa–A pair of William Penn women’s basketball players are performing well in the classroom and for their efforts they were named 2012-2013 Daktronics-NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes.

Sarah Martin (Sr., Anthem, Ariz., Physical Education), with her second accolade, and Susan Smith (Sr., Eugene, Ore., Physical Education), for the first time, were both honored as a total of 178 Division II cagers were awarded the laurel. Martin owns a 3.59 Grade point Average, while Smith has a 3.76 GPA.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
