The Oskaloosa Transform Academy JO (Junior Olympic) Compulsory and Optional Teams competed on Saturday, February 23rd at the IGN Winter Wonderland Invite 2013 in Coralville that was hosted by Iowa Gym-Nest (IGN).

The Level 7 Optional team finished 5th place overall out of 17 teams competing at this meet.  In order to be eligible for a team placement or award, you must have a minimum of 3 gymnasts at that level.

Chloe’ and Pyper were just competing as Level 6 in December and are already showing great success and improvement at the new level.

In the Level 6 Compulsory category, Collette took home 1st place All-Around which was a first time for her.  Emily has now qualified to compete as a Level 6 Optional for next year.  This was a great meet for the two of them!

One of the differences between the Optional and the Compulsory levels is that Optional gymnasts make up their own routines and have to complete certain difficulty requirements in order to achieve a 10.0 Start Value.  Compulsory gymnasts all perform the same routines (according to their Level) and all routines start at a 10.0.

For details and more information on Transform Academy gymnastics, please email transform.gymnastics@gmail.com, call 641-295-1434, or by stopping by the facility at 2209 Park in University Park (former Vennard College gym).  Transform also offers other activities such as dance, cheer, & tumbling.
