The Oskaloosa Indians wrestling squad have changed their names to the Cardiac Kids as 2 of the 4 matches the Indians were involved in went to Sudden Death Overtime. Oskaloosa won both overtime bouts – in fact Andrew Landgrebe won his with just 1 second left in OT.

Nate Caves won his match at 120 with a pin over Kole Evans of Ft Dodge. Caves will advance to take on Alijah Jeffrey of Linn Mar Marion on Friday. Next up was Cody Jones at weight class 160. Jones lost his first match at by a 0-10 major decision but won his consolation round match over Linn Mar Marion ‘s Dakota Digmann and continues to move on through the consolation bracket.

At weight class 170, Landgrebe beat Joe Teague of Algona after an exciting match. Landgrebe – who was absent from state competition last year – excited the Oskaloosa crowd on hand to cheer the Indians.

Dane Jones also went to Sudden Death overtime after Jones tied it up 6-6 in the closing seconds of the last period. With 27 seconds left in the 1 minute overtime period scored the 2 point take down to win the match.
