Gerritt Lynn Lisk age 70, of Hedrick passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at his home in Hedrick. He was born September 28, 1942 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of Myerl and Edna Shelton Lisk. He attended Fox Run and White Oak Country Schools, Hedrick School and Martinsburg School. Gerritt was employed at Steve’s Feed Service, Highway 92 Walnut, Zook Auction Service in Highland Center and Hackert’s Wood Products in Richland for the last 18 years. Gerritt was united in marriage to Marjorie Burtlow in Hedrick, Iowa, April 23, 1994. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, collecting antiques, listening to music, drinking coffee and Pepsi, attending garage sales, collecting Coke memorabilia, but most of all spending time with his three grandsons and other family members.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie Lisk of Hedrick, a son; Jim Keasling of Hedrick, a daughter; Kim (Mark) Weber of Sigourney, three grandsons; Keaton, Kyle and Karson Weber all of Sigourney. Four sisters; Shirley (Bob) Stock of Kansas City, MO., Virginia McCollum of Dalhart, TX, Lola Cain of Lansing, KS., Becky (Phil) McKinney of Eddyville, KY. Four brothers, Keith (Barb) Lisk of Higbee, MO., Walt Lisk of Kansas City, KS., Lee (Josephine) Lisk of Kansas City, KS., and Bruce (Sharon) Lisk Cahill of Clarinda, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons; Gerritt Lynn Lisk, Jr., and Howard Duane Keasling.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24, open after 12:00 noon with the family present between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the Fremont Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, at 10:00 AM at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bill Hornback officiating.
Burial will be in the Coal Creek Cemetery Southwest of Oskaloosa.
