On January 29, 2013 voters will go to the polls for a special election for Mahaska County Supervisor. Far too often we as voters do not have much of a choice for experienced candidates. However, that is not the case in this election. We have Tom Rielly who is an ex-mayor, State Senator, is a successful businessman, husband and father, on the ballot. Tom has the integrity and leadership skills taught to him by his father, the late Judge James P. Rielly. Tom is a lifelong resident of Mahaska County and has proven his commitment to the residents of Mahaska County through his civic and public service.

I have to admit that I have not always agreed with every decision that Tom has made as a public servant, but he would always get both sides of an issue before he voted for what he truly believed to be in the best interest for the public he served.

This special election is being held because Ken Roozenboom, who was a County Supervisor, was elected as our State Senator. With Tom Rielly’s experience as a State Senator, and Ken Roozenboom serving as our State Senator, I see this as a win, win, situation for Mahaska County residents. Therefore I urge you to vote for Tom Rielly as your next Mahaska County Supervisor.
