William Penn Still in Top Ten at #7

William Penn University Athletics

Oskaloosa–Although the Statesmen cagers were finally knocked from the ranks of the unbeatens last week, others also lost, allowing the navy and gold to stay in the top ten as the third NAIA Division II men’s basketball poll was released Tuesday.

William Penn (14-1) fell just one spot to #7 (272 points). The only remaining undefeated programs, Cardinal Stritch (Wis.), with all 13 first-place votes (343 points), and Eastern Oregon top the ranking. Indiana Wesleyan, Embry-Riddle (Fla.), and Northwood round out the top five.

Mount Mercy also represents the Midwest Collegiate Conference at #11.

William Penn is off until December 28-29 where it will compete at the Northwestern Classic in Orange City. The Statesmen will face #30 Hastings (Neb.) Friday at 4 p.m. and #10 Northwestern Saturday at 6 p.m.
