Nationals Qualification and School Record Earn Green #11

Oskaloosa–Gabriel Green (Sr., Anniston, Ala., Business Management) began his final collegiate campaign with a performance worthy of another weekly honor as he was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week Monday.

Green, who has now won 11 career AOW laurels, picked up his first of 2012-2013 by guiding the Statesmen to a solid showing at the Iowa State Holiday Preview last Saturday.

The senior sprinter finished his preliminary race in the 60-meter dash in a time of 6.92 seconds, eclipsing NAIA’s automatic-qualifying standard. He eventually finished tenth at 7.03 seconds.

Equally impressive was the breaking of his school record in the 400-meter dash, placing seventh overall with a time of 49.89 seconds.

Green currently ranks fourth in the nation in the 60.
