GRINNELL COLLEGE’S MICHAEL BRUS NAMED MWC SWIMMING AND DIVING PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Michael Brus ’14 (Davenport, Iowa/North) has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.

For the second meet in a row, Brus was a triple winner as the Pioneers defeated Loras College 140-91 in a dual contest Saturday. The two-time MWC Swimmer of the Year won the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.38) and 400 individual medley (4:17.04) and was part of the first-place 400 medley relay (3:44.08). His time in the 400 individual medley leads the conference.

He also has the top clocking in the MWC in the 1000 freestyle (9:53.65), a time that ranks 11th nationally. He is 24th nationally in the 400 individual medley.

The Women’s Performer of the Week is Hannah Gabriel of Lawrence University.
