MAHASKA COUNTY – Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C. CPAs, have released an audit report on Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

According to Chris Nelson, audit partner, MHP’s revenues totaled $39,319,500 for fiscal year 2012, which runs from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. This is a 5.2 percent increase from the prior year. The revenues included $36,150,100 in net patient revenue, $373,500 of other operating revenue, $1,914,400 from county taxes and $31,100 in interest on investments.

Expenses for the year totaled $37,727,700, a 7.1 percent increase from the prior year, and included $16,727,200 for other professional services, $9,396,200 for nursing services and $6,647,800 for fiscal and administrative services.

Nelson said the increase in revenues and expenses is primarily due to increases in inpatient and outpatient services provided.

“As we continue to concentrate on the quality of our services, our patients have responded by bringing their healthcare needs to MHP,” said MHP Chief Financial Officer Jon Davis. “This is the main reason we have experienced sustained growth.”

A copy of the audited report will soon be available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the Hospital Administrator’s office.
