Indian Volleyball Sweeps Indianola

Indian Volleyball in action against Indianola Thursday evening.

The Oskaloosa Volleyball team swept Indianola 25-18, 25-15, 25-19 to advance to the 4A Regional Final against Solon on Tuesday, October 30 at 7:00pm at HLV in Victor. The Oskaloosa Indians were lead by Shawni Wills with 10 kills on 24 swings, followed by Kailyn Risher, Kate Hasselman, and Taylor Crawford with 5 kills apiece. Serving was a difference-maker in the match as Oskaloosa only missed one serve and had 13 aces as a team. Allie Christenson, Wills, and Hasselman had 4 apiece. Christenson dished out 21 assists in the win. Defensively, Kena Veldhuizen anchored the back row with 15 digs, adding to it was Wills and Hasselman with 8 each. Christenson and Risher led the blockers with 3 blocks, Wills added 2 blocks. Advancing to the Regional Final puts the Indians one win away from a State Volleyball berth, the 12th in school history.
