Mahaska Health Partnership Volunteer Rachel Fynaardt Honored

DES MOINES –The Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) honored Rachel Fynaardt of Oskaloosa as a 2012 IHA Shining Star at their annual meeting in Des Moines on Oct. 11.
This award recognizes and publicly acknowledges the invaluable work done by outstanding Iowa hospital volunteers and auxilians. It showcases active volunteers and auxilians who have shown dedication and initiative in their work and have positively contributed to Iowa hospitals.
Fynaardt has been an active member of the Mahaska Health Partnership Auxiliary since 1976.
She started volunteering in the MHP snack bar /gift shop and served six years on the auxiliary board, first as a board member and then three years as the treasurer.
According to MHP Volunteer Coordinator Kim Langfitt, Fynaardt is a wonderful asset to the MHP Auxiliary. “Rachel has been a dedicated auxiliary member for more than 30 years,” Langfitt said. “We are so grateful for her dedication in supporting MHP in our healthcare mission. Rachel is well liked and respected by her peers for her friendly attitude and desire to help others.”
