OSKALOOSA LIONS CELEBRATE WORLD SIGHT MONTH

Lions Club

October is Lions World Sight Month and the Oskaloosa Lions Club is celebrating by partnering with the Oskaloosa Papa Murphy’s Take and Bake Pizza to raise funds to help pay for eye glasses and vision screenings for people in need in Mahaska County, the state of Iowa, and around the world.

Every Monday in October, Papa Murphy’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from the day’s sales to the Oskaloosa Lions Club. Order a single pizza for that day, or stock up on pizzas to put in the freezer for later. Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15, Oct. 22 and Oct. 29 will all be Lions Day at Oskaloosa Papa Murphy’s.

Chartered in 2010, Oskaloosa Lions Club provides many services to people in Mahaska County, including offering free preschool vision screenings through KidSight Iowa; assisting people in need with eye glasses and hearing aids; paying for children with diabetes to attend Camp Hertko Hollow; planting trees; assisting with Operation Backpack; and many other community activities.

Oskaloosa Lions meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Oskaloosa Public Library. For membership information, call Membership Chair Debbie Doty at 641-673-4173.
