Idle Statesmen Stay at #7

William Penn University Athletics

Kansas City, Mo.–The William Penn football was neither helped nor hurt during last week’s bye week as the NAIA’s third regular season top 25 poll was released today.

William Penn (4-0, 1-0 MWL) is still seventh with an identical 242 points. The navy and gold remain the highest-ranked representatives from the Midwest League, while St. Ambrose is ninth, St. Francis (Ill.) is 17th, and Grand View is 18th.

The top five remains nearly unchanged as Saint Xavier (Ill.) is still #1 with 314 points and all 14 first-place votes. Marian (Ind.) and Georgetown (Ky.) are second and third, while Morningside and Missouri Valley round out the top five, now in a tie for fourth.

The Statesmen rank second among teams from the state of Iowa, behind only #4 Morningside. #15 Northwestern reins from the Hawkeye State as well.
